OPG Update
'We met with Angela Johnson, Head of Practice and Compliance at the OPG in early 2015 . During the course of our meeting she shared with us three key priorities for her office.
- Increasing the level of guidance for both lay and professional deputies.
- Greater external support from financial experts to assist OPG staff in the course of any investigations.
- Greater expert oversight of the activities of professional financial deputies on a proactive basis.
The firm impression that we gathered from the meeting is that OPG is committed to becoming even more proactive.It wants to do this by strengthening a culture of prevention of bad outcomes as opposed to cure for both professional and lay deputies by further improving good guidance and best practice.'
